The 2009-2010 HJH Cheerleading Squad competed in June at the NCA
Cheer Camp that was hosted by our campus.
The squad won The “Game Day Cheer” Trophy, 2 Blue Superior rating
ribbons for Chant and Cheer, and 2 Red Excellence rating ribbons
for Chant and Cheer. The squad won 2 of the coveted NCA Spirit
Sticks.
The NCA also presented the squad with a Nationals Championship Bid
Winner award. In addition to these awards are two S.P.O.T. (Safety
and spotting, Perfection before progression, Organization, and
Technique) awards, and an award for Technical Excellence for
displaying Superior Skills in Stunts.
Seven of the eight members were nominated for All-American and the
camp champ and All American Cheerleader nominated by NCA for
Superior Skills in all areas was Katie Halsell. As All-American,
Katie's squad is also invited to attend all National Bids and the
Thanksgiving Day parades in Houston and New York.
Coach Cindy Langford also successfully completed the NCA Coaches
Credentials Program.
